Swapit's - I'm Soooooo Angry!!!

Hi All

Well, this is the story... My son discovered swapits and decided to swap everything he could in order to bid for an Xbox 360. He worked really hard, listing items, packing and posting them etc. 2 weeks ago, he finally had enough points and 'won' the bidding. Then we find that actually Swapits have not got them in stock (sorry meant to say it was not a private seller but the Swapits team themselves that were offering the 360) After loads of phone calls they delivered it today. BUT, my son thought he was bidding on a Console as that is what it said on the ad, however, what has been delivered in a Core unit. No where did it say this in the ad this was a core unit. So i ring Swapit, or as i will now call them 'swapGITS' as they basically told me tough, and are not going honour the deal. They will however allow him to send it back, but what is the point in that!! It is not like money, it will just give him 1,000's of points which he can't swap for what he wants cos they don't have them!!!!!!

What makes me so angry is that this site is supposed to be a safe area for kids, there i am telling my son that it will all be fine cos it is the swapits team who offered the item, when in fact they don't give a (very rude word) ****

Any advice please!

My anger is telling me to contact every affiliated site on Swapits and tell them what i think of a company they have dealings with.

My daughter is angry with them at the moment as she believes many of there members are not kids but adults,She has been a member for approx 3 year.

The core unit IS the 360 console. The other version (the premium unit) comes with a wireless controller, hard drive and hi-def cable. The unit lacks the hard drive and hi-def cable and comes with a WIRED controller.

Did the listing state it was a premium unit? If not, then there is not a lot they can do.

You can upgrade to the full system by buying the add-on componants.

To be honest, unless your son's a dedicated gamer, he'll only need the Core System!

How is it out of order? I mean, they've obviously supplied the right item. Correct me if I'm wrong Shaz, but I'm guessing your son's quite young? And you're not into video games? It's easy to make a mistake with the newer games consoles. Especialy the X360, because it comes in two versions. The basic version is what most people will buy and is what's been supplied here. I think the sticking point is the fact that it's called a "Core" System, and not basic or whatever. I've just been by swappits and it doesn't say which version they supply, but on a kids website they're unlikey to supply the top end system!

Edit: Sorry, I've just reread that and it sounds a bit snotty! Didn't mean it to be, I'm just saying that Shaz and her son seem to have misunderstood the X360 options. I can see why you'd be angry if you think you've not received the correct item, but I don't think swappits can be held responable. Hope I've explained myself better now!

Thanks for your comments, not snotty so no probs. My son was 15 last week (a very sweet, trusting and young 15). He is mega into gaming and cos it said console and not core unit he naturally assumed it was the console he was getting (now found out it is called premier unit). Bearing in mind he 'spent' nearly 60,000 swapits, then that also made him think it was the premier. He wanted this cos it has the hard drive and eventually he wants to go live and play other gamers.

Anyway, several hours later I have calmed a bit, and will buy him the harddrive myself so that he can do the bits he wants. Anyone any ideas where i can get one??

You can get them from Game, Gamespot etc. Do a google and see what store's cheaper. I don't know as I don't have an X360; waiting on the PS3

Glad you're happier now than earlier, it's always a pain when you don't get what you thought you were getting. I got a stack of Yu-Gi-Oh! cards this morning as I collect them and they all stink of ciggie smoke! Yuck! I wasn't happy. Still, an X360 is a bit more pricey and it's for you son, so if I times my frustration by, say 50, I get where you're coming from!

I just received an xbox 360 from swapitshop, And it was also the core system, cost me 67833 swapits! But it was definitely worth it. I'm gonna pay for a hard drive and xbox live with it, I'm so happy with it, Swapitshop is the best website I have seen. And Im stayin!
