Brown tips on tomato seedlings

I have some tomato seedlings in a mini green house outside. When I checked on them tonight I noticed that some of them have brown withering to the tips of the leaves.

Anyone know why this is -and what to do. The green house is unheated (it is a mini plastic thing) and we are in the South.

Thanks

    Too hot/too cold/too dry.

On what you have said, I would guess, too hot during the day. Do you open the plastic in the daytime?
Do you have a max/min thermometer in there to tell you the extremes of temperature?

I've got a couple of little seedlings like this too. Are you supposed to leave the plastic open during the day? And anything else I should know?

    Thanks in advance! :D

Temp should only get up to about 35C, tomatoes don't really like it above that. I don't know the temps in your greenhouse, so don't know if it is too hot or not.
Yes you should open the plastic every day, for ventilation, plants like the movement of the air and it stops moulds and diseases. Of course if the plants are being damaged by wind/rain/hailstones/things falling out of passing aircraft, then you should close it.

Thank you - good value responses too - I now don't need to ask the question about what is the white bloom that is appearing on the soil today.

Will roll up plastic each morning from tomorrow.............and set up a no fly exclusion zone.

I rolled up the door of the mini green house all day today as instructed, and can report that the no fly zone is working as well.

However I was so pleased with original answers I never thought to ask - what do I do to get rid of the white bloom that is on the soil, and as of tonight on one of my geranium plant?

Just scrape it off and add a bit of new compost if you want to. Allow the compost to dry out a little and by following the advice of the other posters, ie better air circulation, it should keep the mould at bay.
