Second Chance Offer - Seller (moi) confused!

Hi, I've recently started selling my worldly possessions on Ebay to make some extra cash. I had an email today from ebay saying that I had sold one of my items so I cliecked on the send invoice link however looking in my Ebay the prompt says that the item is eligible for a Second Chance Offer. I've looked this up and can see that I can offer the item to the other bidder but I haven't received any information from the original bidder re: their not wanting the item. What should I do?
Many thanks. x

nothing to worry about if the person that won the item doesnt pay you can offer to second highest bidder0 -
It always says that, incase you have 2 items exactly the same and want to sell both (so you can give the second one to the underbidder).Hi, I've recently started selling my worldly possessions on Ebay to make some extra cash. I was warned about this recently by eBay.
By offering it to the second person and not getting the money from the first, you run the risk of having two contracts open at the same time, which if you only have one item, you cannot fulfil.
You need to close the first with an unpaid item strike to be totally free, but be warned that retaliatory negative feedback that you cant counter may be the response.
If you can get an amicable agreement for the first person to release you from that contract, you may be able to move onto the second person.
Hope that helps0 -
This only applies if you are second chancing after problems with your initial bidder. Doesn't apply with 2 items, and it doesnt apply when the bidder becomes unregistered.I was warned about this recently by eBay.

Thanks for your messages folks. Last night I emailed the original Bidder telling her that Ebay had said the item was eligible to be listed for Second Chance and asking if she had retracted her bid. She says she has not and is getting ready to pay me so I told her I would await payment.
I also sent an email to Ebay asking why they had put that it was eligible. It's quite confusing because when I read about Second Chance Offers in the Help section it read as if the Bidder would have retracted her bid and cos I hadn't had any notification I was confused.
You live and learn eh? On the whole am enjoying the Ebay selling experience and so far so good.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge.
