Fine in principle, but I can't help thinking you'd be better off transferring to another lender. Abbey's customer service is dire.

The following is fairly typical of posts to this board, unfortunately. If you use the search facility, I'm sure you'll turn up some others

OTOH, 13 months at 0% is currently available to new customers from Halifax on balance transfers made in the first 90 days. There's a 3% BT fee.
Minimum monthly payment is just 1% of the balance shifted

There's a comprehensive list of card issuers on the stoozing site (sponsored by Money Saving Expert) which is hard to beat: ;)

Abbeys only advantage is the zero balance transfer fee otherwise there are just one great headache! They 'forgot' to take a payment from me for three months despite the fact that I phoned them each month to remind them of this and even though I had set up a direct debit three months in a row. They tried to charge me countless fees for late payment which they later dropped. They will also not let you pay the card over the phone unless you bank with Abbey and I tried repeatedly without sucess to set up internet banking.

They are also quite cautious how much your account limit will be. I only got £3600 despite having a v good credit rating. The lady at Abbey said this was a generous amount of credit... I disagreed.

I finally managed to pay off my Abbey Zero card this week:j:j (within the 6 months interest free period) and am glad to be rid of then!
