Just got a new PC which has Vista and the latest version of Explorer. Have noticed the padlock no longer shows, but have a 'protected mode:on' instead. Just wanted to check I am still protected when logging into my bank accounts/etc

You should see the padlock near the address bar now when logging into secure sites, as opposed to the bottom of the screen in XP. Or at least that's what I see when using IE in Vista.Where there's a will, there's a way to get something cheaper from somewhere else!!

I rarely use IE as its awful. But when I sign into a 'secure' page the address bar turns green for me (If just for a second whilst it goes through the protection):idea:0
