Are people dumb enough to believe the cr@ ppy BBC calculator? Sigh.
Maybe it proves that the BBC are not influenced by the government, after all, the government tell us they are craking down on the highly paid rich, where as the BBC calculator shows that I (no income this year) will be worse of by £13.50 where as DH, a higher rate taxpayer, may or may not be better off to the tune of a meal out.
But then, I think that was those credits. So we're neither of us better off. Is that right? Do I need to press the square root button?0 -
If you lead a similar lifestyle next year, the indications are that you will be £61.96 worse off.
Fantastic!0 -
Are some people dumb enough not to realise people sometimes jest on this forum?

The image of craking down on the wealthy, whilst having a BBC calculator tell them they are better off, are both in the governments interests imo.Favourite hobbies: Watersports. Relaxing in Coffee Shop. Investing in stocks.

Why do people keep saying the BBC are in hand with the government it the reports I saw they said they didn’t believe the growth figures as one example.0

Yes, I am definitely slow. I thought you might be serious for a minute there ...
I'm not really a regular here, if that works in my defence?
I was joking. The original post wasn't an attack on you btw. Apologies if it came across this way...
I was intending to criticize the BBC. People rely on it for a proper assessment, it very rarely gives this imo.
It regularly dumbs news items down for mass consumption and entertainment purposes.Favourite hobbies: Watersports. Relaxing in Coffee Shop. Investing in stocks.

No offence taken at all. That's the trouble with the written word, it's often hard to judge how something is being said. And it's harder when you don't really 'know' the personalities involved, which as a relative newcomer, I don't quite yet!0
