Railcard prices to increase as of 17th May 09

ATOC has announced (internally) that Railcard prices will be increasing in price as of 17th May 2009.
Important Railcard Changes
Price Changes from 17 May 2009
• The price of 16-25, Family & Friends and Senior Railcards will increase from £24 to £26
• The price of the Network Railcard will increase from £20 to £25
Note:
• The price of three year 16-25, Family & Friends and Senior Railcards (online only) will remain at £65.
• The price of the Network Railcard has not increased since September 1997.
• Gold Card holders can still obtain a £1 Network Railcard for a family member or friend.
Minimum Fare Changes from 17 May 2009
• £8 and £16 minimum fares for 16-25 and HM Forces Railcards will change to a £12 minimum fare for Single
& Return tickets before 10:00am Monday to Friday
• 16-25 and HM Forces minimum fares will not apply to Advance fares.
• £10 minimum fare for Network Railcard will increase to £13 on all tickets Monday to Friday.
Note:
• 16-25 and HM Forces minimum fare does not apply on public holidays or throughout July and August.
• Network Railcard minimum fare does not apply on public holidays.
• £13 minimum fare does not apply to Gold Card discounts.
• A £1 minimum child fare applies with HM Forces Railcard, Network Railcard and Gold Card.
• Minimum fares for Travelcards may differ from those listed – see The Manual on FRPP for details.

16-25 Railcard discounts on First Class Advance fares
• 16-25 Railcard holders will get 1/3 off all First Class Advance fares from 17 May 2009.
Railcard discounts on Anytime Day Travelcards (Zones 1 - 6)
• 16-25, Family & Friends, Senior, HM Forces and Network Railcard holders will get 1/3 off Outboundary
Anytime Day Travelcards (Zones 1 - 6).
• A £14.80 minimum fare applies to Outboundary Anytime Day Travelcards (Zones 1 - 6).
• No discounts are available on Anytime Day Travelcards issued for journeys wholly within London Zones 1-6.

If you buy your new railcard on 16th May 2009 you will only be charged the old price and still get the same discount rate.
However I believe you can carry over some days from your old railcard, if you are renewing it earlier. I dont know how many days you can carry over, but I think its possibly up to around 7 days.Ex-Employee of a Train Operating Company.

I reckon there wont be any from ATOC for a few months after the price increase, I also reckon the old codes will cease to work. (or wont after they discover they work!)Ex-Employee of a Train Operating Company.

I think you right, as by past experience the discounts normal come out after the Christmas and Summer school holidays. So in theroy the next one should come out September or October, just in time for my renewal in Nowember.Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0

that min fare thing is wackkkkkk. it was bad enuff when it jumped to £10, so now the SVR will past the £30 mark.
time for discounts/chiltern/advance... which are all longgggg0
