Hi all
just had a strange cal from HFO they purchased one of my debts it seems they have been in contact with the OR and she has told them that i did make the credit card company aware from the beging that i was going to go bankrupt so they should not have sold the debt on without telling them!! the word HFO used was "deception" about the debt they were sold to be fair i can see why there miffed they only bought the debt on the 3rd of feb and i was made bankrupt on the 13th but i did tell all my creditors the same thing !!
Now HFO are asking if i can help them complain about the company concerend!!
What should i do?what would you do? to be fair they have been very polite every time i have spoken to them and i do think if im stupid as im told by this credit card company what does that make them for selling a debt of knowing what they did?Down right dishonest?
Any advice or opinion welcome!! i will speak to my OR on monday she what she says!!
regards Paul

Tell them to take a hike. If these parasites get their fingers burned, serves them right. Debt buying is immoral although not illegal. Look at it this way, they'd have bought the debt at a huge discount which they wouldn't be passing on to you if you hadn't gone B.
Just have a good laugh at their expense.0 -
I totally think you should let them suffer for it. When did a debt company ever do anything nice for you?

Tell them you'll help them for a fee based on a percentage of the amount they bought the debt for, worked out at the percentage they paid of the original debt. Then call them repeatedly and send them lots of threatening letters demanding payment.Budget: a mathematical confirmation of your suspicions. A.A. Latimer
Debt Jan 06: £103,000
Current: £99,000
Debt-free date: 2465 (give or take a century)
Current homemade banana bread status: 2 slices left
Current statement/letter stack: 8.6 inches
The real measure of your wealth is how much you'd be worth if you lost all your money

We had the same situation - we declared on 27/10 and a CC sold the debt on 1/11 - the buyer of the debt wasnt v happy - the words "oh they have been naughty" - it brought a big smile to my face
