M12 Form

Hi,

I filled in and sent away an M12 form to my lender last week (the form to apply to get help paying the interest on your mortgage). Then, they in turn should fill it in and send it on to the Jobcentre Plus.

Does anyone know how long Jobcentre Plus take to process these, as i've been made redundant and am going to struggle to pay my mortgage soon.

Thanks

Depends what aread you're in I guess and the exact circumstances of your loan ie. Is it the original mortgage? Was it just to buy the home or was it for improvements.

Have you just made your claim?

It can take a few weeks but once your lender has received the form it will be on their system that your interest is going to be paid by DWP.

What usually happens is the DWP pay the arrears due since your claim, to your lender, but if you've had to meet the interest payments yourself in the meantime, you can contact your lender to ask that they refund you the interest you've paid while waiting for the M12 to kick in.

If you feel you are going to struggle to meet the mortgage payment then do contact your lender to let them know asap.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
  • My partner has been trying to claim for help with our mortgage for the last 6 months, he is entitled and has filled out the form and sent it off three times to our lender who has passed it back to the job centre.

On each occasion the job centre has asked for more details - in particular reciepts to prove how we spent the mortgage loan on essential maintenance, we no longer have these details / reciepts

This has left us in a catch 22 no receipts no mortgage assistance, so we have been struggling to meet the payments alone.

Heres the best bit, because we cannot provide these reciepts and make a claim for this assistance my partner has had his claim for JSA suspended 3 times in the last 2 months, without prior warning, which has added to our financial strain.

We would be happy to go on without claiming for mortgage assistance but have been told by the job centre that this isn't an option and the form has to be completed.

Has anyone else been having similar problems ???
Does anyone have any good advice, all input welcome

Can you not get copy receipts, or at least prove who the money went to?
    Gone ... or have I?
