Credit Card Approval...

Hi All,

Please forgive me if I'm being a bit thick! This is my first post to this site. I recently opened a new bank account and was told from bank (Natwest) after applying for a credit card, that I have been approved. I have today recived an agreement for me to sign and return - which I have done.

I notice on the covering letter, that is says: 'Your application will be processed and subject to checks, you will receive your new Natwest Credit Card and welcome pack in the next 10 days'

Since I originally applied for the card I have gone over my overdraft. Does anyone know what these 'checks' are (I thought they would have done all the credit scoring already)? And will the fact that I have gone over my o/d affect me receiving card?

I appreciate that I could be worrying over nothing, but I've never had a Credit Card before and don't want anything to go wrong!

Thanks for any help or advice you are able to give

Yes it could affect you. I presume you have bought your account back within your od limit? Bank behavaioural scores do account for something so showing them you cannot stay within agreed limits surely isn't in your best intrests. Good luck anyhow. Let us know how you get on.
