I had a BSM 1.6 Astra as my learner car which I guess some people would consider overpowered for a learner. I just was sensible and didn't stick my foot to the floor or try to be a racing driver, lol.
I would second the Skoda Felicia. Much better option than a Corsa, Saxo, Ka, Fiesta and about the same price or less.0 -
We have a Citreon Salsa (16 years old) and we bought it for £400. It had 31000 on the clock and sailed through an MOT. Don't think the back seat had been sat on and the front passenger seat a few times only.
No power steering and few creature comforts (even the radio has lost its code) so my 17 year old can concentrate on the learning process. Insurance cost us £500 in his name with my wife and I as named drivers - this will jump when he passes his test.
Friend has today bought a NEW Proton over the phone (without scrappage) for £5995 but will have to travel 4 hours to pick it up.0
