travel insurance to cover me at 29 weeks pregnant

hi
im looking for some help getting travel insurance for may when i go to tenerife for a week
i will be 28 weeks pregnant when i fly out and 29 on my return i know i need to get a drs note, but im struggling to find any insurersto cover my pregnancy. does the (EHIC) card cover me for anything under pregnancy? if so do i need extra cover or just take out a normal policy?
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    As it is Spain, the EHIC is only slightly more useful than a chocolate teacup! In Tenerife, unless there is teaching hospital attached to a university or some sort of municipal hospital then the chocolate teapot is probably more useful.

    Sorry - you really should consider travel insurance.

    (Overall though, yes the EHIC card does cover unexpected pregnancy related issues but not going abroad to give birth / receive routine antinatal care but, as with all services, only state provided care.)

    Hi,

    As per my medical knowledge, air travel is unadvisable during 3rd trimester of the pregnancy.

    Most of the travel insurance companies do mention this in their terms and conditions regarding pregnancy. Best option will be to call up couple of travel insurance company and enquire.

    Never mind the insurance, your airline may not board you if they think you may "pop out a little one" mid-air or worse if you have difficulties and they have to divert and land at unscheduled stop costing them a small fortune!

    Check with BOTH your insurers AND the airline!
