sold item to germany, now paypal send me this email

paypal have today sent me this email, what do i do ???
i have sent the parcel to germany, so i may end up out of pocket and with out the clothing i sent...
i usually dont send abroad and this as just made me realize why i dont ... will stick to the uk only from now on !!

unauthorised funds in your PayPal account. We have initiated an
investigation into this event. In the meantime, we have placed a temporary
hold on the funds in question until the investigation is complete. This
temporary hold will show as a deduction in your available balance. In the
meantime, you are free to continue transacting using your PayPal

Phone them, be persistent and explain that you have sent the item and have a valid proof of postage and /or proof of delivery for this item.

For a fraudulent use of card claim paypal rules say that a certificate of posting is sufficient to fight it, but prepared to be persistent. I win one last year, actuallly got refunded twice (shhh) but it took me a while as it was before their rules changed!

Also, contact buyer and explain what has happened, be polite give the buyer a chance to say oops it was a terrible mistake, but use the iron fist approach. Tell buyer that paypal have advised you to contact the police in Germany but you wanted to see if it was a mistake first.

I had a similar message last week on a UK sale.

I contacted the buyer who knew nothing about it.

Answered Paypal's questions, yesterday faxed proof of posting and have today had the hold released.

when i looked on paypal earlier it said funds on hold, now it shows funds placed....
i did contact buyer who does not speak good english he says it was a mistake on his part, he meant to do this to another ebayer has he had no received his items, so he said it was a fraudulant card used.... reckons hes told paypal and they are sorting it..
i have had no contact from paypal, and they have asked for no proof of posting etc ??
what does placed mean ??

Same here, I have had very few but a bit of a 'discussion' with paypal has always got me my funds.

phoned paypal they want me to email them the receipt for posting the item, they told me to go to the case and i can email it from there...
but there is no case showing in open cases, so anyone know what email address i send it to ???

There should be a case open when you log into paypal, are you sure the buyer hasn't cancelled it?

there is no open case, not even a closed case for the item...
the buyer keeps telling me he has closed the case as it was a mistake.. so just dont know what to do
paypal told me it would be closed when i send postal receipt by email....but i cant do that :mad:
