payment protection problem

i am new to this but can anybody help with this one.....

I am paying citroen finance payment protection insurance on a loan. however, reading articles on this site i believe that it was missold to me as i was told at the time that it must be taken out for the loan to be processed. I contacted citroen finance who "investigated " the issue and have come back to me with a letter that basically says that the dealership were acting as agents on their behalf and if i want to make a complaint about misselling i need to contact the dealer and it is nothing to do with them. the dealer has since gone into liquidation and is no longer there to compain to.

Any suggestions??
