I just stick the lunchbag in with whatever I'm washing - teatowels etc. Always wash at 40 degrees and I haven't had a problem. The first time I tried it the bag was in such a disgusting state I had nothing to lose and it has stood up to at least half a dozen washes since then. I stick it on top of a radiator to dry and it dries quickly enough that the plastic inside doesn't smell stale or dank
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

Edited to say: Just looked at the concentrate website and they are lovely - but they suggest putting nuts in one of the pots. Is there a school in the country that still allows nuts????

I often add some nuts and dried fruit to DD's lunches ( and my own) nothing has been said from school that we cant

I went to our sainsburys to see if I could get a couple of lunch boxes, they didnt have any so off to john lewis tomorrow.

Thank you all for the great comments about Concentrate's healthy lunchbox! I'm not gonna lie... unlike kunekune, I actually work for Concentrate. :P But I come bearing news...

For those of you who fancied our healthy lunchbox a little bird has told me that we will be releasing new rucksack and shoulderbag editions of the Lunchbox Coolerbags in the next couple of weeks. They look really cool and makes it fun and easy for children to carry around their lunches. They will be made available exclusively via our online store.

Sign up for our newsletter on our website concentrate.org.uk and we'll keep you posted on when they'll be available. I'll keep you all posted here on this thread as well.

Thanks again for all the great feedback! If you have any questions or comments, feel free to email them to mark at concentrate dot org dot uk.

Cool, I shall check those out, my OH has received and been using his this week and quite happy about it. He likes the dimensions as it fits in his rucksack more comfortably than the ice cream tub he was using:D. I'm always on the lookout for good lunchboxes for DD as they get a lot of bashing and I don't think the bags we've previously used are very hygenic so something that goes in the DW like the box would be very favourable!

BTW - any chance of a discount code for MSEers?:D;):D;) (if you don't ask you don't get - Martin taught me that!:money:)

LOL no harm in asking, Martin's a wise man. I'll see if I can pull some strings for MSEers... not sure if our system is set up for discount vouchers, but I'll work on getting something exclusive for MSE. Maybe even put it up on the front page? (Hey Martin, are you reading this?). I'm a big fan of the site myself, it's saved me a small fortune in restaurant savings alone.

They are both good, but which one is better?

There's only one way to find out.

I think the concentrate bags and boxes look brilliant but I have six lunchboxes to pack every morning so they are a bit out of my budget, lol!

Lakeland also do boxes and bags with the gel stuff used in freezer packs in them, so that you have a container which goes in the freezer and then stays cool. Sorry that I can't do links at the moment but one item is called the chill n fill lunch bag

Just reading the thread with interest.
We use bags and never thought of putting in the washing machine, thanks for the tip.
We use bags as it's easier to squash the food flasks/ soup flasks in plus for older ones the plain ones are ok.

My kids' school do it on a class by class basis. If there is no kid in the class with a nut allergy, then there is no restriction on what the kids in that class bring in.
But mine hate nuts anyway so they never have them in the lunchbox so my conscience is clear either way

I love the concentrate lunchbox and it looks great for my daughter to start school in september.. will look out for the new bags though as I'd like one i could fit a drinks bottle in or a few extras in.

i tried to register for the newsletter buts its saying my email is invalid format...anyone else tried it or is it just me?
