plaster-how long before it dries out?

I go with Catkins on this.
As metioned earlier in post fresh air drys it out best.
Also the pva to walls before painting does stop the paint soaking in but the big downside to this is.
Say you stick something to the walls with blue tack and it get hold pretty well and you just yank it off, the paint can come away with it.As the paint is just lying on top of the plaster.
We had my daughters bike indoors once "couldnt be bothered to take to the shed" rested it against the wall. (rubber handle bars touching the wall)
Pulled it away and a piece of paint came with it.
When you start to pick at the paint it just peels away "nightmare to cover up again"
Anyway I allways recommend buying cheap emulsion after walls have been re-plastered.0 -

PVA should not be applied to new plaster, even if it is diluted first!
There are new paints available that can be used on plaster that is not fully dry, there is more info here-Painting new plaster0 -
Thank you all for the help and advice.I think I will use the Dulux Supermatt as advised by the link given by Weekendwarrior.0

Just had loads of plastering work done in our house and our plaster recommended using a weak solution of wallpaper paste to seal the walls before painting them.
Has anyone tried this before?0
