Why is it that on many petrol forcourts if you put £10 of fuel into your car as soon as the dispensing nozzle is placed back on the pump your purchase goes up by a penny?? :mad:

It's because the garage attendant has a magic remote control that adds 1p to every bill ;-)

This has never happend to me either and I always put the exact amount in £10, £20 ect. I thinks you are pressing the trigger when putting it back

Put £41.36 or however much it takes to fill the tank in each time then you won't notice if the odd penny gets added

I appreciate effort people have made in trying to resolve my query. If you squeeze the trigger, no matter how small, you get petrol. Experience is that the price ticks over a few seconds after the nozzle has been returned to the pump, I aint tuching it. If the attendant has a remote control, I will ask him to upgrade my car.
