Wedding photo-book

what I can tell you though is that the colours will fade or become irregular after about 12 months, the pages will not lay flat, the spines will distort and pages will become ragged arround the binding. If there is any element of dampness in the air whatsoever (eg transpoted in a cold car in winter) the pages will absorb that moisture, ripple and the book will not close nicely.

I was planning a photobook as well as a traditional album, mainly for just showing to friends etc.
Plus I will have the original images forever anywayCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. I Have to say I would agree with Ians5,
We had a photographer that did the storybook album for us and I am so pleased we did. I ahve had a go at doing a layout with bob books but couldn't even come close to what our photographer and a proper graphic designer came up with. Our photographer came at lunchtime (wedding wasn't until 3.30pm) to do pre wedding pics and stayed until 10.30pm, he gave us the cd of ALL pics taken some 300, including copyright so we could use these images anywhere else with no problem. He did the album design and produced large album for us and 5 mini albums for relatives (these were an exact copy) for £900 which I think is exceptional value for money! We are absoloutely delighted with the album, unless you are a designer and have access to the proper printing you could not even hope to compete with the professionals. I would definately recommend the book though as you definately look at it alot more often than a big traditional album which sadly often get relegated to the loft!0 -
My mate used bob books. They are good but the book was suprisingly small - he said they'd maybe want a bigger book if they'd known it would be so small. I couldn't get photobox to work on my computer.0

Hi,
Maybe I can help here - Im actually a wedding photographer myself and own my own photography business. Photobooks are the "in" thing at the minute and they have a longer life than a traditional album due to the way they are made!
Can I ask what you are getting for the £80, how many pages, how many photos, what type of book cover etc. We have basic books, 20 pages holds between 20 - 50 images (depending on what size photos you want) and a nice plain linen cover. All in we would sell this to clients at £40 (or included in the package) so for £80 I would hope you are getting an awful lot more!
It doesnt take long to design these so no extra charge should really be made! Its simply a case of arranging them how you want on the page!
Again editing shouldnt be a problem as this should be included in your package price regardless of having a photo book or not!
Our packages start from £395 including books etc and this seems to please clients! All our clients love the photobook, plus you can personalise it so much more effectively than with a traditional album! You can add text whereever you want and arrange the photos position and size exactly as you want it - just make sure your photographer gives you the control of making the album and ask for a proof of how the album will look before he sends away for it to be made!Life is what you make it.0
