Wireless Logging Off Problem

Hi There
Looking for some help please.
I have a Linksys Wireless-G ADSL Gateway Kit For Notebooks (WGKPC354G-UK). I have it connected to my desktop and it is used by my laptop in another room.
When I try to disable the connection on my desktop I get an error message saying
IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO DISABLE THE CONNECTION AT THIS TIME. THIS CONNECTION MAY BE USING ONE OR MORE PROTOCOLS THAT DO NOT SUPPORT PLUG AND PLAY, OR IT MAY HAVE BEEN INITIATED BY ANOTHER USER OR THE SYSTEM ACCOUNT.
This means that I am connected all the time, even when I don’t want to be online.
My laptop is able to disconnect when it wants.
Have been on to Linksys and they seem to think its a Firewall or Operating system problem but ive tried that and not got anywhere.
I am running WindowXP on both machines.
Any Help greately appreciated

Thanks
