Yikes, they must think I have an extra £60 a month to spare. Do they not realise that I don't use the heating in summer.
Off to phone them......

Have you considered paying on receipt of bill?"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100

Yes, but would just rather try and keep the same monthly payments though, suppose could just move the money to a savings account instead.
We moved in this property in August, so after a year we should know what our yearly consumption is, then hopefully the payments will be steady. It was just a huge shock!0 -

I'm sure they do. How many kwh have you used since August and what is the balance on your account?0 -
I'm afraid they are probably right to increase it. It was probably set too low to start with. Just have to grin and bear it till August till we get a better picture.0

Watch your credit balance build over the summer and keep in mind how much you will need to pay for increased use over winter. Aim to pay enough to achieve a zero balance this time next year, but not so much that you have a large credit balance next April.0
