Sky half price subscriptions

Make sure that if you take up the offer with Sky for their x months half price that they don't hit you for the full amount due to some 'account error'. Also beware if you live in a building of more than 10 flats as you won't be eligible for the full offer, usually just half of it ie 2 months instead of 4. That's only explained when you ring their outsourced installer btw. I told them that is misleading advertising but they claim that it's ok to just put "subject to terms and conditions" on their website and ad paperwork as you can't put everything on one page. I said how about "not applicable to communal installations: ask for more details" as a one-liner?!
Another little thing they forget to tell you when you sign up is that if you don't pay by direct debit there is an extra 4 pounds to pay a month.
I pay by credit card with them having the details. The woman at Sky was helpful and said she will "email" (who?) to sort it out but she thinks that a credit card payment set up counts as a direct debit.
I said I signed a contract for x amount advertised and that is what I am paying! Now am involved in a complicated 'crediting' issue with them. oops.
Your installer - Sky don't do communal installations - has to supply Sky with a couple of codes for you to get the promotion so keep the paperwork too. Mine was so faint it was barely legible.
Just a warning to avoid long stressful minutes on 0870
