One Account no longer 24/7?

I tried to check my bank balance tonight online.

"Service unavailable. Online service is currently unavailable. Please try again later." (again)

So I called the number in my mobile (01603 220500) it says the office is now closed, open 8am to 11pm.

I checked www.saynoto0870.com and it still has my number, but I tried 01603 700531 & 01603 776437. Same message!

So I reluctantly called 0845 3010101 from my landline (not free!) and it's the same message!

Annoyingly the telephone says they are available 24/7 online - well clearly they are not otherwise I would not have been calling in the 1st place!

Their web site still says "We're here 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 08453 01 01 01 or +44 1603 776437 if you're calling from outside the UK." but clearly this is not the case anymore.

When did it change?

Maybe they are just having some technical difficulties tonight!?

Maybe the phone isn't 24 hours, but as Kavanne said the website could have technical issues. It happens.

I can't remember the exact date but I think it may have been in the last quarter of 2008.

The phones lines are definitely not 24/7 now.

One Account are part of RBS/NatWest, who (at least when I banked with them, a good three years ago now) closed their online banking at about 2am for a few hours while they spent some time doing god knows what. You might have just caught them then. ;)

I don't think the phone line was ever 24/7, unlike FD which I often used to call in the middle of the night with queries..

FD is doing a really good offset deal at the moment btw, fixed at 2.99% for 2 years so you can overpay to your hearts content! :money:
