Painting skirting boards in room with fitted carpet

What I used to do was get some long clear plastic from my OH's work and tuck them down between the skirting board and carpet before painting.
It was quite easy to do just using a butter knife or pallet knife. If you get enough plastic you can leave it for a while before removing and re-using on another part of the room

Wow dint know you could still get them, I bought some of them over 15 years ago now and still used them recently ie staining some decking that comes close to upvc door frame
