Mid month over the limit query

in Credit cards
I used my Abbey cash back card for purchases and mid month went over the limit by £8.00 for 2 days. I had both last month and this months purschases on the card, as I was waiting for the DD to pay last months purschases in full. :-[
I was charged on my statement £25.00 but this was cancelled after a phone call.
As I always pay off my balance in full each month, I wondered if this would automatically affect my credit rating? I have asked for an experian report but can't log onto their website which I was told was down when I called them.
If you pay your balance off at the last minute it is difficult to work out exactly how much is on a card at any one time. :-/

There is no place on your credit report for this to go. You havnt missed a payment, depending when they report you may show an outstanding balance higher than your limit, but that will change next month.0

This can very occasionally happen. In theory you need a credit limit of up to 2 months purchases to cover this.
If you know this is going to happen but still want to make a particular purchase you can simply pay the difference off the balance before using the card again. AFAIK, Abbey's MBNA card allows you to make debit card payments for any amount online [min £1] and it takes effect the next working day......under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -
