Wanadoo Livebox - Experiences?

Hi
I am about to order Wanadoo Broadband again, and have just discovered they provide the "Livebox" - which is essentially a Wireless modem/router with VoIP capability.
Has anybody got any experiences of using the Livebox, as currently I am debating whether to accept this 'freebie' or purchase another ADSL Wireless Router from a known manufacturer
Thanks

If you are concerned about your wireless security, it only uses a 26 character WEP encryption key. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

I wouldn't buy the Livebox because it only works with Wanadoo, so it would be redundant if you changed ISP at a later date. Better to buy your own ADSL modem wireless router instead.0 -

a 26 character WEP key is 13 pairs, so thats = 128 WEP according to my understanding?
Do you mean characters or bits?0 -

thanks for the comments- the livebox is free from wanadoo - hence the question, i'd never usually consider buying something thats proprietary0 -

:rotfl:
I mean what I originally said "26 characters" which is 128 bit encryption, but it's only WEP and not WPA-PSK which is much more secure!
WEP is old technology now and WPA was developed to address it's inherent deficiencies.
Basically it's crap when compared to a Netgear, Linksys, or D-Link router!
I originally said "if you are concerned about your wireless security" so it's up to you but if you wanted to change your ISP at a later date, you would need to get another one anyway.
