What's Good to Buy in Sainsbury's?

  • The best way to beat the Sainsburys system is to go in midweek any time between 7pm and 8pm setting the coordinates to land at the reduced sections. My local JS has a seperate reduced section for meat, fish, bread and misc items. Oh and dont forget the Fresh Fish and Meat counter which reduces things. I go by the rule of thumb that if its half price or less then buy it. You need to have a big freezer but you will live like a king or queen!! eg last week £6 worth of fresh scallops for £1.
Sainsburys seems to be the only supermarket that has so many of these reduced items going for such low prices. Timing is of the essence and you need to monitor the staff as they start to mark it down in one section then they will move onto another.
Im not tight just careful and it enables you to have quality food for rock all spend!!!!
    Anyone else do this?
I do my weekly shop on Tesco.com and get the bonus points

I feel sorry for the poor person in Sainsbury's with the reduced price gun. They get surrounded and stalked through the store. I usually nip in once the hoard has gone to see what's been left if anything.

The good thing about Sainsbury's reduced stuff is that you still get the multibuy / money off deals as well.(At least you do where I live).
BOGOF is at the reduced price.(Reduced to 50p,so you get 2 for 50p)
Deals such as 2 for 99p still take the extra off even after the reduction. So I have had hot cross buns a couple of times for next to nothing as they were reduced to 40p a pack and then took off the multibuy of 40 or 50p.

Hope you can make sense of what I mean!
    I think I've confused myself!

Garlic and coriander / plain naans are very good and often on a BOGOF for 99p.
