He will have to either go back or be home-schooled. I think once I can reassure him that things will be okay, he will be fine going back. I've considered home schooling him in the past, but it's difficult to know with children on the autism spectrum whether it's a good thing or a bad thing.

On the one hand, they can learn in an environment they are comfortable with, from someone they trust, at a pace that suits them, and without the distractions that come with mainstream education that they struggle to filter out. And they can learn without having to get stressed about socialising with other children.

On the other hand, maybe they NEED to be exposed to social situations, no matter how stressful that is for them, to be able to learn to cope with them.

And then there's the very real worry about whether I can keep a roof over our heads if I give up work. And the fact that I would probably go slowly insane if I was at home all day every day. :o

And the cake had dolly mixtures on it! :D

I can't add much to what has been said on the Daily Chat (and I daren't post there) but I know its hard, I know its frustrating but one day you will see your reward for fighting for Ryan, one day (soon) you will "win the fight", and one day, you will look back and see that all this "fighting" has made a difference to Ryan's life and no one can ask more than that from you. You should be so proud of your beautiful son, and of course, your beautiful daughter (and I know you are :D) but you should also be immensly proud of your beautiful self.

I know, from personal experience, that its hard to get a child statemented but you seem to be involving every source that could possibly help you and that can only be a good thing.

Anything I can do, just ask and I also wanted to say "Thank You So Very Much" because of what you did for me ;), I have now turned a corner and feel that I can now get on with the rest of my life and am looking forward now, not back and YOU did that for me xxxxxxxxx

Love to you and your children

Hi hunny  lovely to see you over here but please don't be scared of the daily chat - it's only us lot on there, nothing to be afraid of! :D

Thanks for your kind words, I will fight my very hardest for him, and if at the end of the day, help is still not available, it wont be because I haven't tried my very hardest.

By the way, I didn't do anything for you really - the fact you contacted me means you had already decided what you wanted to happen (you just didn't know it ;)).

Hope things are starting to feel a little bit better, you certainly sound to be in a much better place than a couple of weeks ago, and that's all credit to you and no-one else.

And stop posting and running :rotfl: stay and chat!!! :D

Little while since I've updated this, as most of you probably know I've had a rough couple of weeks and I've been feeling really miserable.

Anyway, trying to pull myself out of it now. I think it will take a little while but I just need to make sure I feel like I'm accomplishing *something* each day, and that will help me feel more positive.

I was only saying a couple of weeks ago that I felt like I had finally beaten the panic attacks, anxiety and depression that have been a fairly frequent feature of my life since I was a teenager - I've been sorely tested a few times but I think this is the most difficult time I've had in years, and I'm determined not to let myself spiral downwards.

Oh and my new cooker is fitted and it's fab!

    Wow, thank you xxxxxxxxx

I know I'm really lucky, and I really am going to pull myself out of this miserable mood.

    My jobs for today are:

    Clean kitchen
    Fold laundry
    Go to shop

Not too taxing so I should be able to get through it!
