Thanks for asking this Madhousemum as I've been wondering the same things! I've been lurking on MSE a long time, mostly over in OS, but only recently discovered the comping forums so am still learning the ropes, picking up all the wonderful advice from those of you generous enough to share and of course backtracking to the beginning posts to enter stuff. It's fascinating hearing about others comping habits and how long people spend entering comps

While I'm here, a big huge thanks to all of you who take the time to post up the comps you find and offer advice and help

Oh and I've been entering the Galaxy books comps every day from 3 email addys - nothing yet either

I had my first win after a couple of weeks, was a book i think. just after that i had a call to say i won a weekend in Ireland and had a fair few prizes since then, mostly small but still good. I have entered about 10 competitions since start of march and had 2 wems this week which was a nice suprise.
Keep going if your entering loads eventually you will win.

i've been entering comps since mid march i think it was and i must have enter approx 40 a day, and so far i've not won anything.
not even a book or chocolate!!

i have been keeping a note on how many i've been entering over the past week or so:
tuesday 62,
wednesday 29
friday 58
sunday 15
monday 8
tuesday 54
so far today - 21

so fingers crossed that all the ones i've entered so far since march will finish soon and i'll win something !!

maybe we should have a 'who's the unluckiest' thread !!

if you do a search theres loads of threads with the same questions, theres not really a definate answer as everyone is different, although of course the more you enter the more chance you have of winning, here are some links to previous posts which should help you out.

Galaxy comp hated me 2 so i started doin it when getting up with my son at half 5 and won 3 mornings in a row plus twice before that. I have only won on instant wins still waiting for a wem check inbox all the time so it will be a nice suprise when i do, well thats if i do lol

When I first started a over a year ago I constantly played the pirelli instant win comp and did very well. I played it for hours and won ipods, towels, caps and music downloads. I think it was this that gave me the encouragement to start entering competitions endlessly. I enter most of the competitions ending on a daily basis and some others. I would say I do about 100 a day at least. Although it can be more especially at the end of the month.

I win something small about twice a week. If you spend an hour or two a day entering it really wont take long for you to see some prizes. The only thing I found time consuming when I started was registering with all the different websites.

I get a brilliant high from opening a parcel which I know is a win, entering competitions is a fantastic hobby but like most things you get out what you put in. Good luck. Hope the wins come for you soon. x x

I have spates of doing comps and then not bothering for a while, so far today I would say I've entered maybe 50... I'm not sure how long it took to get my first win through here - quite a few (definately over 200 -lost count) entries! Like the other compers have said above - just keep trying & trying. Good Luck!

I do the google search for comps ending date, then go through the next 7 days worth - ones that I would like to win only of course.
