Catalogue limit increases

Is there any rhyme or reason to catalogue increases?
I opened a Littlewoods account at the end of January and got a limit of £500. Since then I've made several purchases and pay the minimum payment (or sometimes a little more) each month. They just increased my limit to £750 this week. I also opened an Additions Direct account on the same day I opened the Littlewoods account, have operated it in much the same way, and they've not given me any credit limit increase.
I've also noticed that my Next Directory limit keeps changing. I've only had it for about 12 weeks and during that time I've had about 5 different credit limits!
What is the story with Next and with Littlewoods Group catalogues re increases?

OH opened a Littlewoods Direct account in July 2007 and had a start limit of I think £400. I checked it yesterday and we've now got £1800. Usually a £200ish increase everytimeSealed Pot Challenge Member 1216 -

I have found with shop direct group - Additions I have. I had but paid off Choice and LX is , sometimes when I made a payment they would increase my limit by £200 or so. This year I have noticed with Additions is if I order something say , over £100 my limit increases by £300 - only once a month though.
With Next I have been with them since 2002. My limit is £4k - never changed for years (in 2007 went up and down over a period of six months - but thats it).Next say every month your limit is reset to zero and there computer system works out a limit , taking into account conduct and any info from the CRA.
Hope this helps!0 -

That's kind of random of them!!!0 -
Yeah it is - I have seen on here people who have tried to order and had the order rejected due to the change in the limit and not knowing about it!0

Usually catalogues can review your limit every three payments, so every three months ring up their credit dept and ask about an increase.
Mine started £100 now 15mths later £2600, but I have a clean credit record and never miss a payment even when it was £230 like last month!!!.
Just keep plugging away biggest thing with credit is time.JS Name: Freemans £94/£200, Jacamo £941/£1400, Santander account £0/£0 Limit, 3 network 18mthx£20, Vanquis £233/£250, Vodafone 24mthx£35, Great Universal £500/£600, Littlewoods £500/£600, Marshall Ward £250/£300, Halifax Reward £93/£100 o/d, Studio £44/£250, Flybe £1450/£1500, Accessory £450/£520.0 -

Regarding Next they do seem to increase and decrease the credit limit, my hubby has had one for years and sometimes it has been up to 3600, then down to 1800! But occasionally he has missed a payment,so the computer probably decreases it.0

i have a littlewoods catalogue and they recently increased my limit to £12,000 I rang them and told them i didn't want it and asked them to decrease it to £500.00 Which was enough for my needs.
They did this begrudgingly and them after 2 months raised it to £7,500 again. When I rang them to complain they thought i was mad for not accepting it.0 -
