Can't get pictures off my phone.

Good Evening Techies.
I've got a micro SD in my n95 phone and I usually take the pictures off by putting the micro sd into an adapter and slotting the adapter into my laptop.
It usually comes up with the autoplay menu, but it hasn't been doing so the last couple of days. When I double click it a popup says 'Disk in E drive not formatted. Do you want to format it now. I click yes and then it warns me I'm going to lose my data which I don't want.
So I thought I'd be smart and connect the phone to laptop instead, but it says the same thing.
Is there a way for me to save my pictures?

I'm not sure about the N95 but when you connect some phones to a PC you can access the phones internal memory separately from the SD card although this is usually done via software (Nokia Suite?).
If this SD card is on its way out I'dat least back up the files to the phones internal memory for the time being until you can transfer them somehow.0 -
Hummm, when the SD card is in the phone, can you see the pictures on it there? Also have you tried connecting the USB adaptor to another USB port? It might work in a different port.SIMPLE SIMON - Met a pie man going to the fair. Said Simple Simon to the pie man, "What have you got there?" Said the pie man unto Simon, "Pies, you simpleton!"0

It doesn't fix the root of the problem but for now could you bluetooth or use a cable to get the pictures onto your laptop?0

Hi, when it asks do you want to format the disc in drive "whatever", just click no. It should then open, and your photos and other folders will be there. Drag and drop as usual.0

Thank you all for your replies. I'm not sure about the phone memory, I'll try it when I can get my best friend off the phone!

OK, I've copied the pictures to phone memory, and then took the micro sd out and used the usb to connect the phone. I clicked pc suite, but I don't have the software for it (I threw it out when I decided to use the micro sd) and when I click data transfer it says unable to transfer as no memory card available.Getting there...
