Bit annoying I suppose, but I have my current account and savings account with them so would just transfer in to one of those (immediately) and then onwards and outwards to a third party from there.

Open a Web Saver with £1 and use that for external payments.

Yes, have come across this before, and have fixed it exactly as "opinions4u" says, by having a variable websaver in place with just £1 in it to keep it open.
