Moving House Sky Charge

Hi,
I'm moving house soon and have Sky Talk line rental etc. I phoned to organise my move and they said as the previous occupants didn't have a BT line, they would need to ask Openreach to reconnect the line costing me £105. I've tried arguing, but to no avail. I phoned BT who said that there was a Talk Talk line on the account, but that it was being disconnected on the 24th of April, they said if I could stop the cancellation, they would take over the line for free. I then phoned Talk Talk who said they couldn't do anything without the telephone number the account was on. Argh.
Surely me being charged because the previous occupants had Talk Talk isn't fair? Is there anyway round this? I have asked my new landlord for the phone number to see if they're able to give me it, but I'm not all that convinced it'll work and that I won't end up stuck with Talk Talk if it does.
Any ideas?

It's toytown telecom - if BT become involved, then they get their cut for providing the service. TT are only a 'virtual' telco, so they can't provide the same service levels as BT.
The secret to your problem, it to ask the outgoing folk to keep the line connected, and you BOTH speak to TT on the same call, them confirming they're leaving, and you saying you're taking over from that moment. This way, BT don't need to become involved.0 -
