Possible self-employment - should I try to stay on IB?

Hello! I hope someone can offer me some advice.
Background - I have been on IB for about 18 months, having suffered mental health problems which resulted in ending my employment. I went for an IB medical a few weeks ago, and have just received a letter today saying I am no longer entitled to IB. Without going into detail, I believe I have grounds to appeal this decision, but I am unsure whether or not I should do so, as I am intending to set up my own business as soon as I am well enough.
I have heard that there is a test trading scheme for people on IB, whereby you can set up your business but continue to claim IB for the first few months while the business gets established. This would seem like a good way to start off, as I definitely would not be making much money at all to begin with.
What I don't know is whether there are any other similar schemes if I was claiming, say, JSA instead of IB, and which benefit would be better for me if I want to start up on my own.
Any thoughts/advice would be gratefully received.
Thanks.
