This morning, I have received my Interim Gas Payment Review from Seeboard. We are currently paying £35 per month .. they now want us to pay £48.
** blink **
I have no idea how to work out what kind of percentage increase that is - but it seems like a lot. I quail at the thought of what the Electricity one is going to be!
The bill they sent details charges for the period 1 Dec - 3 March (I religiously give meter readings online each month). The amount for that period, is £161.18. That works out, roughly, as £54 a month.
So it would seem as though they have factored in the idea that in the coming months the weather will improve and we will not have cause to use the central heating as much. Our only useage is the heating and the four burners on the hob. The cooker is elec.
Our previous bill (2 Sept - 1 Dec) was £84.57. Roughly, £29 a month.
Prior to that (24 June - 2 Sept) was £28.48. Roughly, £10 a month.
I would anticipate returning back to that level of useage, for the next three months and the three thereafter.
So where do they get off, requesting £48???
We're another family on benefits since DH was made redundant in July 2yrs ago. It seems nobody wants an IT genius with psoriasis, these days. He only got his last job because he temped first and so proved his skills - and now he's got a family, he can't afford to temp.
So anyway, like so many people on this board, we're scratching around to be able to afford all our commitments.
Hence, I'd just like to run this past a few people to see what they think, before I go and create merry hell on the phone whilst utilising my best negotiating skills.

:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:

Tell them that according to your previous usage, £48 would be too much and you are not prepared to pay that. If they don't listen to you, cancel your direct debit and pay quarterly, pay for what you use!0
