I have not used the card for a couple of years since moving address and i want to know if they can find me as they have not got my new address. Do i contact them and offer to try and pay the debt off or forget about it. My circumstances have changed since i got the card and im now claiming income support.

I think you should contact them and acknowledge the debt. :money:0

If your name is on the ER roll they will find you and even through you have not paid on this debt for 2 years it may still have interest and changes being added. It is very likely that the debt is now with a debt collection agency who own the debt or are managing it . I was in your situation and now know it best to come clean on pay on the debt even if its only a token payment of £1 a month which is all they can make you pay because you are on income support.
You will be affected for 6 years because you will have adverse information on your credit file stopping you from get simple things like a new bank account and will have to wait for the default to drop off.
I managed to pay off my debts and my credit file is clear so I know you can be helped.
Speak to National debtline or CCCS ASAP Before you speak to capital one or the debt collection agency.
Hope this helps0 -
