financial hardship -Natwest

I sent off the template letter attaching my copies of statements with charges highlinghted (£822 since May 2008) and Natwest wrote back asking me to fill in the financial hardship statement of incomings and outgoings. I did this and sent it straight back 4 weeks ago.... I have heard nothing from Natwest....what should i do now? Thanks

Give them a call and see whats happening with it.

They do have 8 weeks from your complaint to come back with a final response.

  • Thanks....I have just called the number and apparently a decision has been made and they wrote to me yesterday but the woman could not tell me what the decision was and said I would need to wait for the letter.....keep you posted.
  • Well I have recieved their letter and basically they are saying that i am not in financial hardship even though i have £822 of charges since May last year, mostly incurred when my husband walked out on me leaving 2 children and debts. I earn less than my outgoings and really need this money. Not sure what i need to do now, am i beaten?

Have you got any priority debt arrears(mortgage/rent, council tax, utilities? Do you have any threats of court action from any other creditors?

  • I have had a deduction of earnings for council tax and yes all my utilities are in the red. I am paying arrears on last years still

The council tax thing may help. Photocopy any documentation you have relating to that and write back to them! Good luck.
