32JP Englefield Rd, April Fool!

Here's a familiar friend for some of you no doubt. The cash cow at the Essex Road of Englefield Road.

I have NEVER seen one of these before and as I approached it I was at a complete loss to no how to navigate it. There are no humps and no obvious signs to help the unwary. There's even a cycle line symbol painted on the road at each approach. Masterful.

So far as I can tell I am guilty of ignoring the small blue arrow on the low plastic box in the middle right of the picture. Just as I was approaching this particular !!!!!!'s muddle four pedestrians were crossing in front of me, conveniently obscuring the only piece of relevant signage and forcing me to go wide and into the moneybox before I knew what the hell I was dealing with.

I attach the PCN below. I'd appreciate any advice as to strategy and the legality of the PCN as issued.

My first thought is to state that I could not see the small low sign owing to the pedestrians until it was too late. The painted cycle lane on the road also adds to the confusion. Incidentally, in another 32JP contravention elsewhere on this site the photo displays a much larger blue arrow attached high on the pole. Why is it on that junction and not this?

Cheers.

OK, as a new user I'm not allowed to post the links!! Kind of defeats the point really, doesn't it.

    (soory crabman - but) >>>

all the more reason to take it to pepipoo where your particular junction and other examples has been discussed already.
