hi, sorry im sure this has already been asked and im sure the answer is obvious ......
my partner is claiming income based jsa because he's just lost his job,
it is a joint claim but he signs on,
we have a 15 month old baby so i do not have to work
but i have seen a job advertised that i am intrested in but its only 12 hours a week,
do i have to declare this to the job centre? and will they just deduct the earnings from our jsa? it works out id earn about £84 a week.
thank you!!

becuase you will be working less than 16 hours you can claim JSA.
BUT
your claim will be adjusted to take into account your new wage this will almost definately mean you will lose some or all the money you now receive and maybe even lose your benefits if you earn to much.( not sure what the threshold figures are)Trainee Advisor working in s!!!!horpe, UK. I will help if I can but NEVER take what I say as gospel (where possible I will provide links to relevant sources of information) becuase I have been known, on occasion, to be wrong0 -
There will be a £10 disregard, so the £74 will be deducted off your applicable amount of about £100 so you will have £26 ibjsa plus your earnings of £84
If you earn over the £100 ish per week you will no longer have ibjsa and also will lose all benefits associated with it.

Can you not get an extra 4 hours (you can combined jobs) and you would be entitled to working tax credits and you would still possibly get help with CT and your rent.0
