Car hire in Scotland - any tips?

Hi - have just done a search on MSE, but most of the info I'm coming up with is for overseas car hire. Would appreciate any tips/recommendations for domestic car hire. Many thanks!

Cheapest I have found so far are with Holiday Autos and Europe Autos. Prices tend to be a little higher on domestic. Hertz was almost double their quotes.
