Just needed somewhere to shout about the fact that I just got approved for a Barclaycard Simplicity 6.8% Life of Balance card - don't know the limit or anything yet but SO relieved. I've got a MBNA with loads of debt on it at an outrageous rate so this is really really gonna help me start paying it off - even if the limit is only for a fraction of the balance - step in the right direction. Wooohoooooo!!!!!

Congrats - I'm still waiting to hear back from Virgin regarding my application at the end of last week. Really hope I get the card with uber long 0%0

Don't forget to close the MBNA once you transfer the balance to the Barclaycard to stop it mounting again

will do, and don't worry even if I can't transfer the whole balance off my MBNA I'll be calling them up and telling them to drop the available credit. The card is already hidden away in the house - haven't spent anything on it in over 5 months. Yay!0

Thanks! I've done loads to cut back on my spending but felt like with all this high rate debt I was getting nowhere. Makes all the scrimping and saving worthwhile. I am going to reward myself with a bottle of wine this weekend- on special offer obviously!0
