Amazon MasterCard

Anyone else sick to death with this card?

They NEVER bother sending me the Amazon.co.uk gift vouchers, even though I regularly spend enough on the card to get the required points. I try calling Amazon MasterCard and get told it's Amazon.co.uk's fault, and then when I call Amazon.co.uk I get told it's nothing to do with them, I need to phone Amazon MasterCard.

AAAAGGGH! :confused::confused:

Have you checked that a) they have the right e-mail for you and b) the voucher e-mails are not stuck in your spam folder?

Never had any problems with this card.

I've never had problems with the card. Neither the missus too.

As Rafter has suggested check if Amazon Mastercard got the correct email address. Usually when you contact them via email through the Amazon Mastercard online website they tend to deal with the problem better as sometimes over the phone you get hold of a customer representative who doesn't know what they doing.

Amazon Mastercard only send the points details through to Amazon, they don't have any input in redeeming the points. As everyone else has said, check the email address you have is correct and then that the emails haven't been going into a spam folder.

They tried that with me - each blaming the other.

You could try doing what I did - send an email to them both telling them to get their act together and sort it out.

I got my voucher within three days.

If its that bad close the account, otherwise complain and refuse to get off the phone until it is sorted

  • Well come the end of June the card won't exist anyway!

Received a letter today stating the relationship between Amazon.co.uk and Halifax has come to an end. The card will be replaced by a branded Halifax one. Loyalty points can be gained upon til 31st May, Amazon will then pay out the outstanding balance in a certificate whether or not you have over 1500 points.

Never knew they were closing the card - tend to use this card as my main card :(

I got this from Amazon website: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=13457261/ref=hp_ln_es_mc

It appears you will still get a voucher even if you have less then 1500 points, I quote:

"At that time, even if you have outstanding loyalty points below the usual 1500 points threshold for the issue of an Amazon.co.uk Gift Certificate, Amazon will send you a gift certificate for the value of the outstanding points. This gift certificate will expire on 31st December 2009."

I got this letter yesterday too.
I use the card quite a bit as I shop at amazon a lot.

I've been on the phone to Halifax enquiring on the new card it's being replaced with, and just as I thought, it's their bog-standard no-incentive card.
Elsewhere on this site states that Halifax do a cashback card for 1% fuel/grocery purchases and 0.5% on other spending.
I wanted that card instead but that won't be the case, so come end of June when the swapover happens I'll be cancelling the new account.

Its either the American Express cashback or the Halifax cashback one there's links to the cards on the cards loan section on top of the website.
