"Arrangement fees"

On my monthly bank statements I have charges of £150 for "arrangement fees" which were charged when I made "informal overdraft requests". I didn't actually make any requests but the bank did pay some debits when I didn't have sufficient funds in my account. These fees sent me even further overdrawn as I didn't know that they have been levied until the end of the month statements. As these fees now total over £600 can I claim them back as bank charges?

Comments

  • Absolutely, anytime when you make an informal request(that is the hint that it is a claimable amount).
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009

I asked this question back in April but have not done anything since then as I was waiting to include these charges in a court claim together with other charges. In view of last week's judgement I am no longer going to apply for the refund of other charges but is there any way I can recoup these "arrangement" fees - or are they lost too?
