HSBC CC Payment

Hello,
After reading various threads about problems with setting up a Direct Debit for the HSBC card, I decided to not even try.
On the back of the statement it says you can make an online payment if you have an HSBC account - which I don't.
Anyway, I have just made my first successful payment from my Barclays current account onto my HSBC Master Card. All I had to do was go to the 'Pay a bill/someone' option on my Barclays account and enter the HSBC CARD number (ie, 5434 **** **** ****); as I have always done with other credit cards.
I didn't need to enter the sort-code or account number as attached to the bottom of the HSBC paper statement.
It was easy peasy and I have checked my HSBC statement to confirm the payment went through.
So for anyone worrying about making payments to their HSBC card, I would suggest this option.

Why don't HSBC tell you that you can do this then?
I have recently got a HSBC card and messaged them (using the online banking) to ask how to pay using online banking from another bank (actually using Barclays online banking, the same as you). They gave me a sort code, an account number, and told me to use my HSBC card number as a reference.
I did this on Monday. Today I phoned HSBC customer services because the money still hadnt appeared on my HSBC online statement. I was told that I had used the wrong account number, even though I had used the one that they told me to! So at the moment £320 has disappeared somewhere and I am waiting for someone to find it and credit it to my account.
For those who are interested, I was told to use:
Sort 40-42-46 Acc 99009787 - Now told this is wrong
Sort as above, Acc 29004734 - Told this is right
Bunch of muppets.

I am going to draw cash from my bank account and go to an HSBC branch to pay at the counter.
I don't trust thm at all.0 -
