How do I know what my payment portion will be if my insurance does not wrap the whole fee?

You will need to look at the exact terms of your policy.

For instance, HSA pay 50% of claims for treatment and 100% up to a set limit (I think its 100) for check ups, hygienist etc

But each policy provider has different T&C so the only way you'll know is find out what they are and break out the calculator
