Two opposing takes on Tesco profits !!

Interesting year 1994 in the US report for Tesco.
I wonder how much money they funded directly or indirectly to the Labour Party?
Funny that the Senior Management of Tesco have strong links with Mr Blair.
Also funny that the Competition Commission fell asleep a couple of years later & little like the FSA.
But hey, its all coincidence.Not Again0 -

Tell me...
How much taxable revenue does Tesco bring in to the UK from their foreign operations?
How much currency exits the UK due to the high level of imports supplied by Tesco?
How many of the Tesco UK jobs could not be supplied in other supermarkets?
How many of these jobs were also situated in the high street & village stores before the start of the Supermarket revolution?
In net terms the how much money does Tescos generate for the economy? Not Again0 -

Why single out Tesco's?
You could choose M&S, EON , BP, or Associated British Foods and make the similar statements in the same context. Remember Asda is owned by Wal Mart. Also Aldi and Lidl in terms of size in the European market are big players.
Compared to the customer service I have received from Corporate Companies both on a personal and business level Tesco's is far better than most.
At the moment Tesco's is a UK based operation. Alliance Boots is now based in Switerland. Other large companies are looking also to relocate to Ireland, Switerland and Bermuda. So yes they do make a real contribution in tax terms to the country.0 -

I guess from your Username that you wouldn't know Tesco's as they once were. Setting standards for retailing is no bad thing.0 -

I used to work in one when I was 16 in 1986.
Then supervised a department shift in 88 whilst in 6th form/college.
I know exactly what they were, where they come from, what they are now & what their policies & politics bring.
Tesco does not have financial value to the economy of the UK.
Thanks.Not Again0
