We've been very lucky with the weather in this country, this weekend was beautiful up in Northumberland and the accommodation was only £30! :T
We used The Sun holiday vouchers.
We had a completely wonderful time. holidays don't have to be expensive.

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

Same with us Sammy.........we just seem to go over budget time and time again on holiday and that is us not being extravagant:o

Our little London jaunt ended up costing us over £500:eek::o

Its easy enough to do that in London - everything is soooo expensive if you eat out here, which as a tourist you really have no choice but to do :o

I love my westminster residents card though - gives me 20% off entry to loads of stuff :D:D

week in NY = £800 for how many people? and thats only 1 week.

so 2 week cruise at £900 each is starting to sound better.

sammy - yer right, holidays are mega expensive. and a cruise is great, or it was last time i was on one. food was mega-supremo.

id go for a week to majorca or barcelona or something tho, but ya know.. i'll still end up being about 600 for a week and that not including food or stuff.

    yeah?

I'm going to a Girlguiding training centre, Foxlease, in Lyndhurst. 62 adult leaders going. Should be a laugh. We have outside trainers so once I get everyone there I can relax a bit.

took me ages to work out what outside trainers were....thought we had managed to convert you to running......

    £800 for me :D

Last time I went I stayed with a friend and spent only £500 - but if a cruise is your thing go for it - I'm not a relax on holiday kind of gal - I like to do 'stuff', hence all the city breaks :D

I think it depends what you do...tbh I would be happy with a beach, a book and a cocktail...I don't need anything fancy although a bit of sun would be great...but my OH likes eating out and sightseeing and driving for miles and miles and miles...

I am going away for a week in Croyde with my sister in July. She is disabled so can't go far which is fine by me, I shall just run around the caravan park, stop to read a book every now and then. make the dinner and drink red wine at night whilst putting the world to rights......cost of holiday = not much!

All this talk of holidays is making me want to go. We've never had a family holiday :o
Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches
