Need to record several DVDs of a certain function. Will take ages to record each DVD at a time. Is there a way i can link several external/internal DVD writers to record at the same time? What software do i need?
No it is not for recording pirated movies etc. Have made wedding movies etc and the family members want a copy each.

Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems
Well at least i learn something on the way

How many are we talking about? If it's upwards of a dozen, then why not just get them commercially duplicated? If less, easier just to burn them individually. You've only got to load the DVD and then commence the burning process, then you can let it run itself. No free lunch, and no free laptop

You could invest in a duplicator, Ebuyer have a selection (http://www.ebuyer.com/search?q=duplicator&x=0&y=0) although you might find a cheaper on by shopping around.0

The full version of Nero, not express, apparently can. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0

How big is the family? Are we talking "Goodfella's" size here? If its a one off type thing, then macman's idea probably best.0

If you splash out on a duplicator it would have been cheaper to have the whole shebang done professionally in the first place.0

Normally for weddings etc i have to create at least 8 copies. :-(Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems

8 copies isnt very many, just insert your master copy and create an image of your dvd, then burn the image to disc as many times as you need. Will probably only take 10 mins or so per copy, if you tell your software to make 8 copies, it will eject each one as it is completed and prompt you to insert a new disc. Nero or NTI will do this easily. A site for duplicators is ukdvdr dot co dot uk.0

If it isn't just a one off thing but more like a business and a regular requirement then yes consider a duplicator but burning 8 DVDs once in a while is hardly a huge imposition as you can start it up and just put in a new DVD when you happen to notice one has been ejected and do something else in the meantime.Normally for weddings etc i have to create at least 8 copies. :-(0 -
....or think differently and put the whole thing online instead of creating DVDs. You can publish to YouTube, for example, and have a video only available for certain people to view if you don't want the whole world to see it.0

Except the quality will be considerably worse, lots of people don't own computers, and more people don't have the internets.
And youtube doesn't let you upload videos as long as I'm assuming this one will be.
The solution's already been posted. A free version, I've just realised, is to run multiple copies of dvdburn.exe simultaneously.
