Only started happening yesterday and is slightly worrying me.
Ever time i turn right the left wheel squeaks. Stops when i right the wheel, or when i brake.
Tracking isn't off, and car is ok other wise. 55 plate and doing well.
Any ideas folkes? Normally change my car every 3 years, finances not allowing this year and the first year out of warrenty for me
Any help much appreciated.

Could be a wheel bearing. although that would make a grinding noise.
Try wobbling the wheel or jack the car up and wobble it.0 -
It's kind of like a grinding noise. Very hard to describe...
Can only be heard when the window is upside down...
Could be the brake pads i suppose - anyone have a rough idea how much it would cost to replace the front two?0 -
Shouldn't be the brake pads as they should be in the calipers held onto the hub and shouldn't move out of place when turning right.
I suspect a CV joint perhaps?!0 -
Wheel trim coming off?
Wheels catching the mud flap?0 -
I had this with a Corsa I had.
It seemed to be something to do with the brake pads if I remember corectly?
Have you tried jacking up the car and turning the wheel by hand? Might be able to work out exactly where the noise is coming from?“Hardware: The parts of a computer system that can be thrown out of the nearest window!”0 -
Are you sure there is no obstruction between the disc and the pad?
Alternatively i would say it was a cv boot, My last car on full lock ( different car same parts etc) would make a grinding noise, especially at slow speeds. This shouldnt be expensive to get replaced.War does not decide who is right, It decides who is left.0 -
According to a website i found - it can be caused by the pads not disengaging - which is why it disappears whn i brake.
Whats a CV Boot?0 -
It's part of a driveshaft. From the engine, the motion goes through the gearbox, then to a differential which sends movement to the wheels through 2 driveshafts. These driveshafts usually have 2 joints on, covered by rubber gaiters. They compensate for movement between the gearbox and wheels, including steering, hence faults often come to be known about when steering (especially full lock) in one direction - usually in the guise of clicking sounds. If the boot (rubber cover on the joint) goes, this means it loses the grease and grit can get in and destroy the joint. Failure of one of these boots constitutes an MOT failure. That's the best I can explain it myself.0
