Hi folks, just a quick question.
I have just arranged a new base unit for my mum which I was sortng out for her. The shop had forgotten to install my own disks of XP on but I asked if you an easy thing to do, if so I would do it myself rather than waiting in the shop for over an hour for someone to do it. He said that when I get it home just turn it on install the XP disks and follow all the menus pressing enter to go through.
This I do all very successfully I am pleased to say. After installing all her other software (word etc) I noticed that the usual c: was called E:. Is just a case of going into start, control panel, clicking administrative tools, Computer Management, disk management and right clicking the drive and selecting change drive letter and paths and choosing the drive letter I want to change to and clicking change.
Would all the other software that I put on be ok.
Look forward to hearing your advice.

It sounds like the machine must have either 2 hard drives or maybe one drive with more than one partition and you haven't installed windows to the primary drive.
I'm pretty sure you won't be able to change this - if you want it on c: you'll have to reinstall.0 -
