Ni doubt you are gearing up to spam us all with details of what a marvellous plasterer you are and how compeitive your prices are.
Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.
  • Wow - it's cheap down here! West Wales quoted £250 for two big ceilings Inc materials. Ceilings are artex so it includes a bonding layer 5x6m ceilings!
  • In all fairness any plasterer that's half decent or actually good at there job are not going to do your job for 100 pound and if you can find someone to do it that cheap then fair play but the finish is going to be rubbish,I live in the south west and you can expect to pay from 200 to 300 on a day rate.as a plasterer my self if I did the job for 100 pound by the time it takes to get materials bring them to the job set up do the work pack up and tidy up,100 pounds would not cover half of my day.
You can not expect the job to be that cheap unless it's off a cow boy who goes from small job to small job bodgeing the work up and getting out as quickly as possible to make extra money.
Prices have also gone up on materials etc so you can never expect to pay the same on every job you have done or if someone has a simmalir job done don't expect the same price,I do not understand where you have got it should be ruffly 100 pounds to?
If it takes half a day to do the job expect to pay a full day rate or vet the plasterer who does it to do it on price but I'm not sure you will for suck small a job.
It's life you pay good money for good work cheap work is always a bad finish in the end.

Bit of a sweeping statement that is totally rubbish! I live in the south west and I pay my plasterer £15 per hour. I supply materials. He does a great job and only charges for time on the job - not half day or full day. He's a little unpredictable on when he's actually going to turn up but his work is of a very high standard.

I think there are some guys who have their heads up their backsides when it comes to charging reasonable day rates for private work. I have heard of some ridiculous rates being charged for what amounts to very simple jobs. We do a lot of site work and have seen massive drops in day rates and measured work.

Ohhohoho - Whereabout in London are you? I am in North London and also looking for a plasterer to do a whole room, could you PM me your plasteres' phone number please, £250 a day sounds like a good deal! Thank You!!

I'd travel to London for £250 a day and you'd get the whole room skimmed for that Ceiling and walls to the best possible standard.

We are chippies not plasterers. We are being offered rates between £120-150 a day, and then have to wait weeks to see the cash!
